📢 For the third consecutive year, the Peruvian-North American Cultural Center of Arequipa convenes the MÁLAGA GRENET INTERNATIONAL CARICATURE COMPETITION – 2025, which seeks to revalue the art of caricature from Arequipa to the whole world. Last year, the contest gathered more than 300 works from 41 countries, with the participation of the greatest exponents of universal caricature, which made the contest one of the most important in the world. The winner of the second edition was the Argentine caricaturist Juan Francisco Miranda, who won the award and was in our city to receive the coveted prize.
✍️ The contest is named after Julio Málaga Grenet, since he is the most important graphic artist of the first half of the 20th century, both for the technical and compositional quality of his formal language and for the sharp discourse of social and political criticism of his time. Malaga Grenet developed in various genres of graphic art such as literary illustration, fashion illustration, advertising drawing, cartoons and caricature.

📢 Por tercer año consecutivo el Centro Cultural Peruano Norteamericano de Arequipa convoca al CONCURSO INTERNACIONAL DE CARICATURA MÁLAGA GRENET – 2025, que busca revalorar el arte de la caricatura desde Arequipa para el mundo entero. El año pasado, el concurso reunió a más de 300 obras de 41 países, con la participación de los más grandes exponentes de la caricatura universal, lo que convirtió al concurso en uno de los más importantes del mundo. El ganador de la segunda edición fue el caricaturista argentino, Juan Francisco Miranda, quien se llevó el galardón y estuvo en nuestra ciudad para recibir el codiciado premio.
✍️ El Concurso lleva el nombre de Julio Málaga Grenet ya que es el artista gráfico más importante de la primera mitad del siglo XX, tanto por la calidad técnica y compositiva de su lenguaje formal como por el agudo discurso de crítica social y política de su época. Málaga Grenet se desenvolvió en diversos géneros del arte gráfico como son la ilustración literaria, la ilustración de moda, el dibujo publicitario, la historieta y la caricatura.
